Ros Ford is a painter and printmaker based in Bristol, UK. In 2012 she was elected as an Associate of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers. She works from Spike Print Studio, and her studio at BV Studios, Bristol.
Ford’s recent work is a series of prints about the often bypassed urban landscapes in and around Bristol. In these works she explores the unordered, the overlooked and the sideshows of life. She uses traditional etching techniques, usually on copper and steel. The original drawn details from the high, imagined viewpoint are often lost in multiple layers and erasures reflecting natural and man-made changes in the location.
Ford exhibits widely, undertakes commissions and residencies. Her work is held in public and private collections in the UK and overseas.
