Montezuma is the study of the increasing industrialisation of agricultural practices to meet the demands put upon soil by monopolistic, profit driven food corporations.
Depicted is the evermore present Central Pivot Irrigation system of farming that allows productive increases to be achieved once the natural growing capacity of the soil is reached. The image is of a landscape that is utterly industrialised yet the patterns it shows are chaotic and somewhat organic. This contradiction evidences one of the problems facing humanity: the appearance and presence of technology being a secondary concern to its specific function and political identity.
